1.) HomePad is getting an IP address but it still cannot find any audio servers, what can I try?

2.) Make sure the audio server is running. If it is not, start it. If it is, stop and restart it.

3.) Make sure that all software firewalls are disabled such as Norton, and McAffee.

4.) Also check to make sure that your OS firewall is disabled as well. Below is how to disable it:

A). To stop Windows Firewall under Windows XP:

  1. Open Start->Settings->Control Panel->Network Connections. The Network Connections window will open.
  2. Right-click on the network adapter that is in use and select Properties.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Uncheck the Internet Connection Firewall checkbox and save settings.

B.) To stop Firewall under Mac OS X 10.3.x/104.x:

  1. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Sharing.
  2. Click Firewall and click the Stop button.

C.) To turn off the Firewall under Mac OS 10.5.x:
1.) Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Security, and then click Firewall.
2.) Open the Firewall pane of Security preferences
3.) If some settings are dimmed, click the lock icon and type an administrator name and password.
4.) select “Allow all incoming connections.”
