Purchased this to provide wireless connectivity to my Mac G4 Desktop.
Mac G4 Running Sys. X 10.5.7
Trying to connect to an ATT 2Wire DSL modem/router/wireless router.
The router is WEP encrypted.
Set-up went fine and was able to secure a connection to the internet. However,
after initial set-up Aerolite configuration utility was closed and connection was lost.
Aerolite configuration utility was re-launched and my 2Wire network was displayed, however the Mac operating system multi-colored
beach ball continued to spin endlessly and it would not re-connect to my network. No signal strength was picked up and likewise no quality indicated. Green light was on steady in Aerolite USB device
during the time that the "beach ball of death" was spinning.
At this point a "restart" of the computer was attempted, however Aerolite Utility hung and would not allow the computer to restart. Force Quit would not Quit Aerolite Utility either.
A forced shut down by holding the power button was required.
The computer was restarted and when it did Aerolite configuration utility automatically launched (checked and it is not in the "login on startup" selection on this or any other account). This time, closed the window,
but did not Quit the utility program. Connected just fine to the network while working on the computer and through "sleep" cycle's as well. However, when logged out of the account and back into the account once again,
the Utility did not connect to the network, program hung and could not force quit or shut-down the computer normally. When logging out of one and account and into a different account same thing. Loss of network. Hung program and computer
does not shut down normally.
When program is hung, at first my network continues to be displayed as available. When rescan is selected, my network disappears. Unplugging and replugging the Aerolite into the USB port was no help.
When computer is turned on and receiving the Network properly signal strength is around 75% and Quality in the low 90's.
Your help is appreciated.
